along with all of the rollers and tensioners? These are included in most timing belt jobs and are the parts that typically go bad, not the timing belt itself.
If seriously contemplating the Audi, check out the suspension parts, particularly the front upper control arms, tie rod ends, rear axle bushings especially if equipped with Quattro - the Audi suspension is a lot more complex than a Jetta. Also check the heat and A/C for full functionality - repair of the HVAC components requires dismantling the interior and was the primary reason that we got rid of our 1996 A4.
