Wow, I'm glad I don't see that kind of corrosion.
Just make sure you get a tool under the nipple so that you can lift/press in the lock ring that releases the barbs and allows the nipple to slide off the pipe.
I don't quite know how to explain but the special tool is a flat piece of sheet metal bent to 90° and the end has a groove that fit around the pipe. So you hook it around the pipe and lift and that releases the lock mechanism and lift the nipple off the pipe.
