Still love the looks of the MGA Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 19 Jun 2013 17:29:44 In Reply to: Good choice, No Snaab, Wed, 19 Jun 2013 16:51:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
But the prices versus the condition of the cars I have been able to inspect has been a huge disconnect. Car with many thousands spent on body work and paint, but they left the body on the frame and didn't touch the enigne. Car with red body and blue engine compartment, and no engine work. Car made from at least three donor vehicles, a 1960 MGA 1600, a 1956 MGA 1500, a 1965 MGB, and a WHOLE lot of Bondo.
There is a nice one in South Bend but the price is in the low 20's. Another nice one in Rothesay New Brunswick, but the $3500 in Shipping/Customs/Brokerage fees puts this one in the low 20's too - and delivery might require eight weeks! A lot of money for a car with no windows which will only be driven a few times per year.
