There is an OSD forum over at Swedespeed.com and there are extensive discussions and experiences with OSD on a Volvo. I understand the savings are a bit less generous recently than in the near past.
My wife and I talked about picking up our S60 in Sweden but since we had previously picked up two Saabs there we decided to just order what we wanted and have it delivered. With OSD you save the delivery charge ($925) and get a percent off the MSRP and get two round trip tickets on SAS or BA plus a night in a hotel and transfers. What most folks really like is the Volvo delivery center experience and having a free "rental" to tour Europe.
Another plus is more flexibility in colors and options that may not be offered in a vehicle ordered for stateside delivery or picked up off the dealer lot.
Volvo was still offering a $2000 incentive for Saab owners when we ordered our 2014 S60. Currently it's $1000.
