Benefits of adjusting AMM

Hello all,
I was wondering what the advantage of adjusting the AMM from the stock 380 ohms (classic 900 turbo) are.
My '85 idles between 1200 and 1500 with the idle screw not touching the throttle, the air bleed all the way in and the dashpot backed out.
I've checked the AIC, the NTC, the TPC, the Ignition Control Module, cleaned the throttle body, vacuum leaks, boot cracks, injectors and wiring to LH control unit.
Will adjusting the AMM to a lower resistance lower my idle?
Also, will my '89 which has a tweeked APC, timing advance mod and 3.0 FPR benefit from changing the resistance on the AMM?
Thanks.
