the primary reason for a catchcan (my opinion) Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Fri, 10 Feb 2006 16:05:37 In Reply to: Re: 25.00 bucks, thats cheap, I need one on my car., John Williams [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 10 Feb 2006 09:18:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
is to keep oil & fumes from getting reburned, oddly enough that is its verry purpose :-)
anyway.... oil & oil fumes lower octane & can lead to pre ignition that is why my car & carls viggen vent to atmosphere this is probably no biggie on a stock car or mildly tuned car but I think if you are realy pushing it its best not to have the fumes or oil in there at all
before I had my car apart this time I had a bad seal between the turbo inlet pipe & the turbo so that area was allways oily :-(
ofcourse I have it sealed up tight now but its nice not to have oil allover the turbo :-)
take care
