I have built a number of RACE CAR Classic 900's over the years. The last few we have bulit are like this. If it is a 900 TURBO....Just totally strip the wiring out of the car. you will need to re-use the LH harness and add your power and grounds to that. For the APC system you will just need to get out the wiring diagram and run a couple wires. Next wire up an IGNITION module (Simple).
For a racecar you'll still need a cooling fan circuit to run the radiater fans.
If you try cutting out wires that you don't need you will spend a lot of time and go Bizzerk!!!To make a classic 900 run...you don't need much. Just break it up into categories. 1.)Fuel System 2.)Ignition system 3.) charging circuit 4.engine cooling fans 5.)APC
If you look in a SAAB service manual you will see that all of the above systems are very simple.
We run an 8 valve SAAB stock car on friday nights on a local Dirt track....the wiring in that car would fit in your pants pocket!!!
