I have a classic 1993 900T. I installed a custom built 3" exhaust system starting RIGHT out off the turbo and all the way back to the tailpipe! It's got a high flow 3" cat also! My question is... Where do I mount the O2 sensor??? I have been told that if you instal the bung and o2 sensor too far from the turbo outlet, you get poor readings and it screws up your idle and cruising conditions! So, how close do I realistically want the bung and o2 sensor mounted near the turbo? The exhaust system has some elbow type bends in it as it comes out of the turbo and wraps around into a straight pipe (basically a downpipe). Can I mount the o2 sensor rith as the elbow starts to become stright, about a few inches from the turbo??? Or if not then where? I have been told that mounting the o2 sensor 12 inches from the turbo is rendering the o2 sensor practially useless, is that true? Many thanks for your expert answers in advance, all you ace mechanics!!!
