Like you said you need to get some extra wheels for the front and get some sticky tires for them. Get in a parking lot with a friend who holds a flag or whatever and a stop watch and practice launching. If you were on a 1\4 mile track I would think you would do much better overall, but 60 ft is where most of these races are won or lost. I brought the ol viper to the track a few times and would get beaten by cars that I should not have got beaten by, but I sucked at launching that beast. All I would do is spin the crap out of rear wheels while others were hooking up and beating the heck out of me within 60 feet. But after I hit second I could real half of them in. The thing with sticky tires is that you then start breaking half shafts/trannys, etc....
It is addicting though. Jak, were you around in larkspur when sears pt had outlaw nights? That was a blast-I remember back in the days beating V8's with my heavily modified capri. Used to piss the hell out of them.
