Autometer oil pressure, oil temp, and A/F install Q's Posted by Chadwick [Email] (#569) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chadwick) on Mon, 25 Dec 2006 21:34:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey everyone,
Sorry to bring up a topic that has been brought up many times before. I searched the archives and couldn't find quite the right answers to my questions so I decided to post my Q's. The gauges are the Autometer ultra lite series which I bought used off ebay with no senders included, and I have the oem 3 gauge panel in the DIN slot. Also, all gauges are electronic, not mechanical. The car is a 91 9000 Turbo.
1. I purchased the VDO drain plug sender for oil temperature. The sweep on my gauge is identical to the 300 degree sweep of a VDO gauge. Do you see any reason why this wont work?
2. The oil pressure gauge is a 100psi gauge. Does auto meter make a sender with a proper thread pitch to screw into the factory oil light sender location? I'm not sure of the thread pitch of the oem oil light sensor, but I believe it may be a m10x1, is that correct? Also, could I use the VDO sender for this location if needed, since the 100psi vdo gauge has the same sweep?
3. What is the best ground to use under the dash? I have power coming from the headlight switch to my a pillar mounted boost gauge, so I was going to tap into that for power. I was going to daisy chain all the power and grounds.
TIA for your answers!
- Chad
