I asked Johnny at Maptun about the Platinum plugs when trying them out on an earlier 9000 and he commented that they found they were prone to fouling and were then harder to clear. I was trying NGK Platinum plugs in the 7 heat range. On a Dyno they produced exactly the same power as the BCPR7ES. Have since read on the 9000 board that if you want to use Platinums the 6s are more suitable, at least for a car in standard tune. But it does seem as though if you're prepared to invest a few minutes R&R every 10k miles the BCPR-7ES is the way to go for most of our cars.
