Last week my sister's 87 C900 clutch line broke. To get hydraulic pressure back in the clutch line, I had to bleed the system 3x. I bleed the system by getting a brake fluid reservior cap from an early model ABS Saab (i.e. 90-93 C900 or 89-93ish 9000 with a little breather hole on the top). With an air compressor nearby and a blower attached to the end of my air hose, I would pressurize the brake fluid container (which I topped up full before starting this procedure) till fluid came out of the slave cylinder's bleeder nipple. The second time doing this, I pushed down the clutch pedal in an effort to fill the clutch master with fluid as well (not sure if this step is necessary, but in my mind it made a difference). In the third bleeding step, I simply pressurize the brake fluid container again and open and close the slave's bleeder nipple one last time. After these three steps, I had lots of pressure at the slave.
From what I gather, your problem could just be in the way you are bleeding the system - not sure. At any rate, I hope this post helps.
Cheers
