To be honest my car is my daily driver which annually sees about 20t km
of road and I have never missed the "old times" with std turbo (stage III) or the GT28RS set-up because I feel I have not given anything up, but gained allot more fun.
As we know there are thousands of people out the driving N/A cars with small displacement engines without problems and are "happy" with what they, siplified a turbo car when "off" boost. Therefore I really dont see why one would need to have full torque available from 2000rpm in a turbo car either, since after all its very seldom in "daily use" when you put the boost gauge to positive pressure to begin with.
And once you want to "GO" you're in the higher revs when you naturally shift down from 5th ;)
