Bradiko,
The OEM 900 turbocharger should easily be capable of supporting 225-230 BHP while still creating some efficiency (low charging temperatures) and going the route of a turbocharger upgrade before reaching this BHP may not provide a substantial increase in engine performance. A turbocharger boost pressure increase, fueling, intake, and exhaust would bring engine BHP towards this 230 BHP target and allow for use of the OEM turbocharger. The T3 60 is a modest upgrade over OEM but would prob. add another 10 to 15 BHP to an engine already modified as mentioned above.
If turbocharger spool is a concern, a step to the .63 turbine A/R is usually considered a supstantial step over the .48 (OEM) and would take more exhaust velocity to drive the same turbine wheel but allow for less exhaust backpressure at higher engine BHP levels. The .48 turbine housing may be your best alternative if seeking low end turbocharger spool and an engine BHP target under 300-325.
Best of luck and regards,
GaryK at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
