This is a question that I have been wondering about also. I changed all our Saabs, 3 soon to be 4)and our Dodge 2500, over to Amsoil 5-40 Eurospec last Sept. 09/06 after the SOC '06. Have no issues with the oil, seems to stay cleaner longer, starting in winter is better, etc.etc. Also went with the Amsoil EAO filters because they claim to filter better with better oil flow. Problem is, I have only increased change intervals to 6000 miles vs. their 12,000 reccomendation. (too scary for me) and had good results, no excess, (basically 0) oil consumption. Am I wasting money on these $15.00 filters when I could buy a case of Mann's for $ 5.00 each? Are the Mann's good enough for a 6,000 mile change interval?
