In my opinion if you want accuracy a mechanical gauge which means a direct oil pressure line leading from the engine to a cabin installed pressure gauge is best. I usually opt for this but leave my original factory idiot light or gauge installed. I plumb a tee between the block and the oem sending unit for the mech gauge plastic or copper line.I wouldn't use a pressure gauge that sat around from my Grandfathers days.
