that's exactly my question. I've done a little research and I figure I'll need better bottom-end bearings and probably reinforced rods, right? then stiffer valve springs...
I also hear high-rpm cams exist, and with the additional room for breathing I'd have to drop in an open-air intake which I'm thinking up now anyway. then with its larger lungs, the engine would need a method of quickly expelling the gasses, so I figure a race cat of some sort and I'd probably chop off the center resonator.
also, I have no idea if my rev limiter even works. is there a non-mechanical way to tell?
oh, one more thing: I hear many people drive around without their balance-shaft chain. I think when I reinstalled mine I was off a tooth or so because I'm getting a small amount of vibration around 2500rmp. would it hurt to cut it and run those higher engine speeds?
