Also look for some old posts on cleaning up the intake by modifying the airbox, installing a K&N, removing the turbo silencer, and porting the pipe to the throttle body at both ends. Try a search on something like "silencer".

You should also put a sport exhaust on if it's still available or somethign similar if it's not.

I might be invvlined to do the stage 1 with the above mods and skip the intercooler change. See if you like it... then do th intercooler if you want to. There's no labor savings to doing it all at once.
