Any Saab motor short of the Ecotec is going to weigh close to double what a b-series Honda motor weighs. You're talking about an overbuilt, iron-block engine replacing a barely built all-aluminum one. The b-series engines (and their bays) are tiny - folks have problems putting the h-series motors (from a Prelude/Accord) in a CRX, and I'd bet good money a Saab engine is even bigger. Besides, weighing down the front of a tiny FWD car with a massive engine isn't going to help it handle at all.
If you're looking to do something nobody has ever done before, well, go for it. But, if you just want a fast CRX, a turbo'd B16 or K20 is pretty cheap and it's been done before...
