bsr ppc and safety power cut...

since it has been colder in boston and the air is more dense, the bsr in my 06 9-3 aero is even more happy. however, i seem to be regularly hitting some sort of safety cut where after a quick power run, the car will not achieve more than base boost until i shut it down and restart. after restarting, the power is back, but then it may cut again if i run too hard. it's not always convenient to pull over and restart the car so sometimes i end up finishing the trip with base/no boost. i've heard this is some sort of safety measure, but it is quickly becoming a nusance to deal with.
anyone else have the same issue? anythoughts on best way to approach/fix?
thanks in advance.
