When I bought my Viggen I changed ALL fluids so that I had a base point knowing what's in there and when it was put in. Then I'd install new plugs, serpentine belt and MAF, unless of course you have documentation that it was recently done. My MAF had never been replaced so I didn't want to take chances. Also, if you do not have oil change documentation it's best to check for sludge. Ideally by removing the oil pan but you can also remove the valve cover. Lastly and perhaps most importantly make sure you have PCV version #6. If not, install immediately.

As for upgrades, I strongly recommend Nordic stage 4, or at least working towards that as a goal. I found that installing a 3" DP, bigger IC, etc., without the software changed the drivability characteristics of the car and not always in ways that I liked (gutless on the highway, etc.). The software really transforms the car. But you have a CV and maybe don't want that much power. Body flex under WOT is bad enough on a stock CV Viggen.

I'd definitely consider the 6 point brace and upper strut brace (squid bar). They really do help with flex, torque steer and getting more power on the road. Rear ARB too.

Lastly, if you chose to up the power (and even if you don't) the Quaife LSD is amazing in improving traction and drivability but it is expensive. I installed mine after a blew my transmission, and keep that in mind, if you up the power that will always be a greater risk. Our transmissions have a weak crush sleeve that can easily fail. Of course there is an updated version that was introduced in '03.

Good luck with the Viggen CV, one of the best looking CVs out there IMO. I'd love to own one to pair with my Coupe!
