Great write-up, I may have to get one of these. Did you send yours in or pay the core charge? And did you have to destroy your shift knob to get it off? And is the shifter harder on the tranny in any way?
For the intercooler, it's also pretty straightforward. Get a bungee cord or a similar to hold the radiator back while you work (makes it so much easier). As in pull the radiator towards the rear of the car. The ETS is bigger than stock as far as thickness, so it takes some toying with to get it in perfectly. Once you get it in, get that top bolt torqued down and you're set. It might take you a while to get the lower feet into the rubber holes, with the trio (condenser, intercooler, radiator) all lined up perfectly.
I put it in 2 summers ago, so I don't quite remember details as far as what gave me trouble...but didn't take too long (figure 1-2 hrs, maybe more). Really just take out the old and put in the new. Good luck, and enjoy the lack of heatsink (in the summer at least, but I think you said you've lived in TX)! It's definitely a nice surprise when it's warm out (cold too).
