Here's a link ( http://www.kyankton.net/saab9000/engine.htm# ) to Kevin Yankton's 9000 site where he explains the performance gains and has a picture of the one I did for him. The '94 to '98 9000's have a smaller diameter flywheel (ring gear) yet weigh a lot more than an earlier 9000 flywheels. This flywheel being much thicker is an excellent candidate for lightening with all of the extra metal it has on the crankshaft side. Four lbs wouldn't do much but 9 plus does make quite a difference as Kevin says. Dave at SPG9
