Better to get a chip.
I ran a 3.0 FPR, a red box, a 010 dizzy and a RRFPR on my daily driver '93 900T until I seized the motor. It was a good setup for me. I already had the Cartech RRFPR on hand from tuning turbos back in the '80s--that's how old-tech it is. If you've never done it before, it can be a bit time consuming to set it up. I installed a calibrated boost gauge, a fuel pressure gauge and an air-fuel ratio gauge in the cockpit. Without all that, and Jeff Chojnacki's handy calculator, I wouldn't have gotten it dialed in properly. If you don't have all that stuff on hand, it's a pretty hefty investment (in time and money). That's why I'd recommend going the chip route.
