Hi Bill, First of all don't expect to do all this in 20 minutes, just take your time and the job will go a lot smoother. Just the chain tensioner part of the job could easily take 20 minutes! You do need to be on TDC before releasing the timing chain tensioner! Turn the front of the crankshaft clockwise until you're on Top Dead Center (O on pulley to timing cover). Both timing marks on the front of the cam sprockets will either be straight up or straight down at this point. If they are not straight up turn the crank one more turn clockwise so the cam sprocket marks will be straight up. Make sure that there are 15 chain pins between these cam sprocket marks ( http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj239/mylesguitars/setup026.jpg ) when they are straight up! Then looking at both sprockets from the back side you will see notches in the cams themselves right behind the front cam caps that line up with some "V" like marks on the back of each of these caps that need to be lined up however they are never spot on but need to be very close. Also when everything looks right before you reinstall your valve cover turn the crank clockwise 2 more turns back to TDC again and recheck your "V" marks just to make sure the tensioner didn't do anything weird and that everything really is still correctly aligned. Cam caps should be torqued to 11 ft-lbs, sprockets 46 ft-lbs and timing cover is 15 ft-lbs. Take care, Dave at SPG9 Turbo's
