Also - you're asking extremely vague questions. A lot of times it's not worth it to go through the entire performance build process for the classic 900T engine, because you can get to the limits of the rest of the system - like the halfshafts - before you reach the limit of the engine.
What are you doing for engine management?
Which turbo?
Are you upgrading the cooling?
Brakes?
Clutch?
Breaking 300whp on the classic gets REALLY expensive - you can have a very streetable 250whp for significantly less and preserve some reliability, and basically do it on the stock injections system.
And of course cost is always an issue these days.
I'm a proponent of doing it right the first time for sure, and Dave K and his son did all the machining on the engine in my car, and I think it was worth every penny, but for what I use it for there were cheaper ways to do it, and if I did it again, I'd probably go a different route altogether to get the same power.
My $0.02
Best,
Drew
