Here is what I noticed other than the job being kind of a hassle since my buddie dropped the timing chain.
I notice a pause/delay in the top end of my second gear
but then it hits really hard mid range/top end. I did check all vacume lines btw.
The car also has some issues like in 4th gear the power cuts out for no reason. sometimes its like wow my eyeballs are moving to the back of my skull and other times I may as well be getting passed by a geo.
DO I need to adapt for the cams as well because I cannot explain why the sudden loss of power in 4th....I dont think this would be cam related?
The scariest part is starting it up for the 1st time if you have not done this kind of work.
I was shure to count 15 pins between the hash marks "poining upwards" on the sprockets and was shure to line up crank pully notch to timing cover. Of note I forgot to lube my lobes so there was some lifter noise for the first 5 miniutes. but I figure if they were done wrong idle would sound really wierd but it just makes a noise like this...hummmmm ummmmmm hummmmm ummmmmm hummmmmm you can bearly tell but I think I did it right.
Can someone tell me if I need to adapt? and if changing the pistons would be that much more difficult?
