I have just upgraded my 2000 9-3 Aero (HOT) with JZW Stage 1 ECU and can tell you that it is well worth it. There is so much torque now that the flat spot off-idle to 1,500 rpm is gone and punching it from 3,000 rpm and up really pins you back in the seat (torque steer when you are not straight makes things interesting but I plan to solve that with a steering rack brace shortly).
I did have issues with both by original and backup DICs dying (John says that upgrades like this merely highlight marginal components such as DICs and AMMs) but a new one ordered from FCP Groton quickly sorted out this problem.
I would like to thank John for answering my frantic emails and providing advise on the upgrade.
