BOV Questions...

Soon I plan to buy a forged BOV for my car. I am considering to buy an atmospheric BOV, my fear is that I will make the car way too loud and begin to piss off my neighbors. I saw a post yesterday saying they were louder than the poster liked but I dont know how loud that is. Ok, what I want to know, can I make a regular BOV dump to atmosphere rather than to the intake? I would think that this is doing pretty much the same thing as the atmospheric and would not harm anything... I could then test with mine and get an idea of what I am getting in to before I invest in the forged unit. (I would think that a standard BOV vented to atmosphere would be less pronounced than the one made to dump to atmosphere) This way I am not out $150 for the forged atmospheric BOV and then another $150 for the other standard forged BOV, if I hate the atmospherics sound. If this is possible, what is the best way to cap the intake of where the BOV would normally dump? Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Cheers,
Chris.
