Hey guys,
We talked about this in the past, but thought it might be a good topic again. What options to we all have as far as lowering our cars weight. My first thoughts are those boards in the trunk coverin the spare. I'm assuming they are particle board covered in carpet. Are there any alternatives at our local hardware store for this? Maybe plexi-glass (can be heavy also) maybe thinner plywood and new carpet? power steering and a/c adds weight, I'm pretty stuck on my a/c but power steering, I don't need no power steering. But alas I can't find a manual rack, any option beside conversion. How about those manual racks from summit they're mustange or pinto style (don't know what that means) and are 3.5 turns lock to lock what would it take to adapt one of those to our rides, is it possible? Its pretty safe to say we can pull out the seats, and either leave them out or replace with lighter racing seats. One is expensive the other not an option for a daily driver. Wheels how much do our stock rims weigh? I replaced mine for the summer with Kosei K-1 racing and although I can't remeber the exact weight of the top of my head but they are pretty light. What do you guys think? What have you done to lower weight?
Michael
