are no better than you or i. their "holier than thou" attitude is just a front. fact is, i'm sure everyone here has done something worse in one way or another then someone else. and i'm sure that very few of these people understand the seattle area and the drivers here. i grew up in maryland, lived in new england for four years, and have driven all up and down the east coast. after living in the seattle area for over three years, i must say that the driving here sucks the most. nowhere else have i been run off the road, flashed and tailgated(dangerously), sped past and cutoff, stopped and picked a fight with, or had things thrown at me. and none of these were for agressive actions towards the other drivers. they were all for mistakes, not fully seeing someone in the mirror, not passing the person in front of me fast enough, merging in front of someone where i had plenty of room if they had been traveling at a reasonable speed, someone wanting to take the next exit ramp, etc. fact is, if you take your time to merge, wait for someone else or don't drive on the agressive side (reasonably), you won't make it out of your driveway, at least here in seattle. it's unfortunate, but true. so, i do feel for you, you were in a situation that happens almost daily. bad luck has it that a cop was in the emergency stopping lane (but then, that's not a real safe place to be parking now is it? on a highway where speeds are around 70-75mph only feet from the car). good luck w/ the court appearance. at least you have some support on the home front, right james? laters.
