Shaun,
I got the gasket back in June, and after all the screwing around the car is finally back to normal. (knock on wood) I told that place (that I talked to before about the copper gasket install on a saab) the directions that Paceo gave me and they said that it would work for a racing application. Ie you rip the engine out after every week of racing. But most of us don't do it that way. They told me that without O ringing the block the gasket will float around, and cannot provide a good seal since there isn't anything to keep is in place. Thats why the O rings make it work, they keep it in place. So it cost me $1,700 to try the copper gasket, troubleshoot why its leaking and then take the gasket off and replace it with a stock gasket. Paceo stated that it wasn't on correctly, but at least it seems that their gasket would need a o ring job to work. If others have found a way or a gasket company that works without oringing I'd love to hear it, and how they did it as well.
