I guess this post is directed to Saabers in the Northeast but any and all comments are welcome.
Well... apparently the things are made of silly putty. I got a new set from SAAB for nothing and guess what. At least 2-3 of the new ones are bent again (only slightly but enough to cause some minor steering wheel vibration on certain roads during acceleration).
Anyone have luck getting a second set out of SAAB for free? Anyone get a credit on a second set and pay the additional to upgrade to turbine rims (which might actually look cool) or other SAAB BBS rims? They made a comment to me that this was a one time goodwill offer.
Also, any ideas for a rim type that won't bend as easily. As far as I know the only thing I have to drive over is some trolley tracks which is a minor bump in the road taken at 10ish mph. I have looked on TIRERACK.COM and there are some cool ones out there, but the low prices (relative to BBS) lead me to believe low quality and easy bending.
I am thinking BBS RKs or the 2 pieces but I am kinda hesitant to dump that kind of money with the possibility of the rims bending again.
I really don't want to put higher profile rubber on but might consider it as an option as well.
Any and all ideas are welcome.
I'll wave to ya as I wobble down the road!
thanks in advance
Ron
