Damn clicking solenoid

I have an '89 900t that was running just ducky until I did a clutch swap. Ever since, boost is erratic. It get's stuck at base boost. I have swapped in what I thought was a known-good solenoid, and spc box with the no change. I did notice that at idle, if I activate the brake-light switch, the solenoid stops clicking...and after a few brake pedal cycles, stopped alltogether...Does anyone have any other advise for me?
Thanks!
