I think the 302(4.9l) is better than the 4.6l engine ever was...although the new 265hp 4.6l has promise. You can take an old '87-91 notchback and make it super fast for very little money. I don't think I'd ever say that the 302 is not a bullet proof engine....cause it is, just like the chevy 350. I know that mustang and camaros are always associated with rednecks, but I've owned two camaros and I don't consider myself a redneck...heck I can't be a redneck, I drive a SAAB. I do understand the difference between a fine turbo charged 4cyl from Europe and a good old low-tech American V8. I gotta tell you, I love the turbo 4, but my heart has and always will be with a big ol' V8.
