Here's my story: When I lived in souther ca. there was this stretch of highway 1 (2 lanes) both ways that we use to haul ass on. This was in the 80's mind you. I had this 73 capri with a 270hp v6 with all the goodies of the time. I was cruising at around 70 when this kid in a brand new z28 comes up behind me. Off we go, he passes me, and cuts in front of me. I tail gate him at one strech at a crazy speed of 137mph. I remember looking down at the speedo about 2 car lenghts behind him and thinking this is nuts. This went on for about 4 miles. There was this area that cops use to hang out. It was just about when you came into town. I slowed down to about 60. He kept the gas on around 110. A truck with a camper shell did not judge his speed. This was at a point of the highway where you could cross. The truck pulls out, the z28 locks them up like I have never seen to this day and t-bones him at aroud 60. Truck does 2 180's, camper shell flies off in the ditch about 50 ft away. Truck driver gets out without a scratch. Z28 is totaled. driver has 2 broken legs.
Pays to know the area but, this was one stupid thing on both of our parts.
