actually, i set redline to 7000 rpm for those pulls. torque came on around 3500 or so and stayed around 200 until about 5500. hp broke 200 about 5100 and stayed strong until i let off the gas at 7000. with the cams, the engine definitely would pull higher, but i feel comfortable with a 7000 rpm limit. if i was racing the car i might pull higher, but for a daily driver, this seems safe.
these numbers are fairly conserative considering we were running a fat fuel curve (about 11.5:1) and a conservative timing curve to be safe. the dyno facility seemed to think another 30 hp or so could be had just by bringing the fuel down to 12.5:1 and bumping up timing. there are still some bugs to work out (hot and cold start and idle, as well as full control of boost). i may even use one of the aux inputs for a boost trim control. by installing a knob in the cabin, i can trim different levels of boost, once the curve is set. then it can be dialed back for hot days, or vallet parking, etc.
i must say though, the car is unbelievably smooth. the boost comes on strong and smooth, the car pushes you back into the seat and holds you there until 7000 rpm. it seems to make the tranny much happier. with 18 psi before the wolf system, i was only putting out 200 whp and the clutch wouldn't hold. now, with 13 more whp, the clutch is holding fine. i think the transition into power is helping the drivetrain.
