I used a flat black barbeque grill paint. Used about five coats. It's held up so far. Even used the same paint on my exhaust manifold (turbo). Used about 7 or 8 coats on that, and it's held up. I tried using that expensive hi-temp paint for automotive uses (both 500 & 1500 degrees stuff), but it never seemed to work as well as the BBQ paint. Lowes/Home Depot/ACE, ETC.
