from what I read in previous discussions on the BB a breather will fail emissions.
BTW, what did you do to plug the split on the vent line? The one side goes to the Valve Cover, where does the other go... i forget? Did you cap it off or "86-it" completely?
You could always make a new vent line that you swap in for inspection time, just make sure to design it for a quick switch as a 5 min job not like the OEM one where you have to dig up under the intake. Or you just leave the old line in place, disconnect and cap when not needed and reconnect when inspecting.
Ok, I need stop (guess we tell who's had a few to many cups of coffee today), hope my ramblings have helped
