>"Fact of the matter is, that the upgrade you have isn't suited for prolonged use if you want to avoid toasting your turbo and burning exhaust valves."<
AGAIN, How dou you know this????? Are you an Engineer? Are you taking a WAG in the hopes that someone buys something your friend sells instead? Did you actually start this post using the word "FACT"???
>"Now I'm not trying to put down SQR or Frank, and I'm sure they know very well what they're doing. All I'm saying is that companies like Maptun, Hirsch etc probably focus more on supreme long term reliabilty (like stock) than peak HP."<
Really?? Then what exactly is the point you are trying to make?? Again, you say "probably", but to what extent have you gone to prove this damaging statement? Did you tell me that you are an engineer? Does "probably" mean that since someone uses big injectors,( and makes less HP than the other who has chosen not to use them, while the other makes MORE power, has a completely flat power band right to redline, has de-tuned torque to *PROLONG* my transmission)automatically means that they are SAFER??? Dumping unneeded fuel into a cylinder is an engine life enhancement? Again, I WILL be upgrading my IC and exhaust, EGT if need be, will be addressed.
>"PS: The people you're talking about with 20% drivetrain loss had Speedparts upgrades, not Maptun"<
Yet again, the post wasn't read. Alan had Speedparts software and made 249 with an MBC. Bill J made 239 with Maptun. He also gave instructions to make the software as wild as posssible due to the inevitable replacement of the trans. I like the posts by these guys and am certainly not using them for fodder in this petty posting war here between Maptun foot soldiers and people who dare to like the results of another provider. Bill J, my apology for using your name here.
