How to reach 8,000RPM?

It seems to me that pursuing power means whacking up the boost and hoping for the best. However, I feel that raising the rev limit is the key.
With that in mind, I intend building a modified B202 engine with a safe redline of 8,000RPM. Here are some of the thoughts so far, and I'd love to hear everyone's ideas :)
Stronger valve springs
Solid valve lifters
Performance camshafts
Forged pistons, lightened and balanced
Stronger conrods, lightened, balanced and shot-peened
Stronger fastenings for reciprocating and rotating assembly
Lightened, balanced and knife-edged stock crankshaft
Lightened and balanced flywheel and clutch pressure plate
Piston decks cooled with block mounted oil sprays
Assume the engine's top-end will have already been sorted with modified 2.3L cylinder head, larger valves and 2.1L inlet manifold.
Also on the list is a rebore, and I'm hoping for a save 2.2L boreout - is this feasible? Can the B202 block be pushed further without having to go silly on strenghtening?
On a side note, does anyone know of the maximum valve lift possible on a stock engine? High lift camshafts are the way to go for power at the top end, but just how lift is safe?
Many many thanks everyone for any advice you have :)
James
