Justin's message has a lot of good info, and the procedure's not that hard. Since I've done this to an '86 myself, let me throw out a couple more things:
I didn't find it necessary to change fuel injectors. Stock seemed fine.
I didn't use a watercooled turbocharger or an oil cooler. I was running pretty low boost (~5 psi) and synthetic oil. And most of the time ;^) I didn't drive the car really hard, so the engine/turbo didn't get stressed that much.
You may be worried about where the oil-return line from the turbo will go - don't be. There's aready a hole in the block in the right location. It's covered with a freeze plug that is usually easy to remove.
You'll be a lot better off with a turbo exhaust. The stock "s" system is too restrictive, even for a low-boost setup.
I used stock ignition but retarded the basic timing 2 degrees. As Justin said, you MUST use premium gas. If you don't, when it hits boost the EZK system seems to "give up" trying to control knock, and the engine detonates like crazy.
To echo what Justin said, you'll be amazed how little turbo lag there is. Mine would make max boost (such as it was) at about 1500 RPM.
There's also an added benefit to doing this that you don't see mentioned much: as far as your insurance company knows, your car is still the "s" model. This can sometimes save you quite a lot of $$$!
