I have the msd6 btm on my 1993 900 turbo! I need the dawes device to stop the btm from continuing to retard spark more than, say, 10 or 11 degrees. That's supposedly what I bought it for, modeling my car after twinsaab's website and Kevin K's recommendations. The problem is, as I'm understanding it at least now, the dawes device will allow my engine to lean out and self destruct w/out the apc ever kicking in IF I exceed the boost normally associated with what's accompanied at 10-11 degrees retard. So if I have 15 psi safely at 10 degrees retard and the car for some reason boosts higher than that, the apc WILL NOT kick in and my car will severly detonate before I can get off the gas!!! This is how I understand the problem. Is this understanding correct? But w/out the dawes device I have the problem I'm experiencing now; WAY TOO MUCH retard at higher boosts. Like 15 degrees of retard at 20psi AND absolutely no power at that psi due to the way too much retard! What do I do??? I've not set up the dawes device yet because of my above mentioned understanding that I'd fry my engine. So if someone can tell me how to get around this problem, or if I incorrectly understand the issue, PLEASE tell me. Most sincerely, John.
