If you have the grill in your hand, you should be able to see the small plastic rivets that hold the blk part into the chrome part. Pull them or dril them out and then just seperate the two pieces. From there you cut out all the plastic fins from the blk part. Next, cut the mesh material to be used just slightly bigger than the large opening that now exist in the center of the blk part where the fins used to be. Slightly larger means, about 1/4" overlap all the way around. Now that you have the material cut, find a way to secure it to the black part itself or hot glue it in place so yyu can them trim the excess material hanging over the edges of the blakk part. Now try fitting the blk part back into the chrome part. check the fit and trim the mesh material as needed. When they fit back together (like a puzzle, the way they were initially) you can ssecure them permanently. Now find a way to then rivet those two pieces back together (you do remember removeing the plastic rivets don't you?). Intall grill back in car and enjoy.
Also, you can and probably should paint the mesh material with a few coats of paint (pick a color) before getting started.
See Ya,
Phil
