...so the c900 has a passive rear-steering effect, just like the new 9-3SS "Re-Axs" !

I agree w/ Brad on the operation of this effect (can't argue with geometry).

Here is an analysis of what inputs effect the operation of it:

Decreased rear steering:

1 - as the lower links approach 0 degrees (level w/ ground), the less push-pull you will get
on the rear axle. Lowering springs will do this.
2 - more roll stiffness (and less body roll) will reduce the push-pull on the rear axle.
3 - OEM rubber bushings on the lower links will absorb some of the push-pull motion.
4 - solid upper links will resist the rotation of the rear axle.

Increased rear steering:

1a - keep a stock ride height or jack up the car to give you more angle of the lower links
1b - for a lowered car with nearly flat lower links, restore angle by raising the mount point
on the body…Brad has detailed this before…cut up the floor plan and built a raised pivot point from scratch.
2 - use soft springs and no rear sway bar (less roll stiffness) for lots of body roll to emphasize the push-pull effect.
3 - use poly or solid bushings in the lower links so that all the push-pull forces are transmitted to the rear axle
4 - use soft rubber bushings in the upper links to allow for maximum axle movement.

Not all of those things are desirable for handling, especially #2! I would not want to drive this car that is
completely optimized for passive rear-steering! The main effect of a soft, compliant rear end is pronounced
understeer...which would completely obliterate any gains achieved from passive rear steering.

I have a solution in the works for the solid upper links, which would maintain axle location and tire clearance,
but allow for some movement also. More later…here's a little model to look at.
