Consider the T3/T4 hybrid turbos. they are nice and won't cost you much. for super quick spool i think the T25 works great but isnt efficent with high boost. GT series is serious money. try opening up some flow on your exhaust system, you could see boost somewhat earlier. also, aftermarket electronic boost controllers make it fun and easy to play with boost! kind of renders that upgraded APC useless though, and saab purists seem to not like these. I see you have an aftermarket BOV, those usually tend to help a bit, i think those Bosch bypass valves are totally worthless: leaky and slow responding are these pieces of crap. recirculation is fine (although not as cool sounding), but i dont like those bosch valves for performance applications.
Overall the T3 is a good turbo, especially for that motor without hideous amounts of mods. I'm selling one of my T3's to a friend with an '87 Mitzu Starion turbo; the T3 is much better than the teeny-wheeny, inefficient mitsubishi compressor he has on there now.
