I think you know where I'm heading. Having recently pulled and replaced an engine, I opted to resurface the (stock) flywheel. Both the PP and flywheel had considerable heat marbeling and even some visible surface cracks on the flywheel. The flywheel was by far the worst, and had I some more time I would have replaced the PP. The difference visually after resurfacing the flywheel was night and day, so I'm assuming I did a very good thing, and as long as I have that flywheel in place and don't abuse the clutch (I still don't know what i could do to abuse it), I won't have a problem with slippage. So far that is the case. Car is 82 with implanted 86 16VT with original 82 CIS fuel system and 88 tranny. Only mod is to dist advance unit for additional retard under boost, plus stock IC. Based on it's performance, it's running at spec horsepower. Having said that, perhaps I'm not generating enough HP to notice any clutch slippage.
