Ive read many posts concerning the replacement of the stock bypass valve with an atmospheric blow off valve on a 9000 aero with the trionic 7 system. Some people are saying that it will work just fine because the T7 can compensate for the rich air that results during shifts, and to simply cover the plug on the intake inlet pipe. Others say the T7 wont work with a BOV and that the car will stall between shifts? To find out i installed a Forge Atmospheric Blow off Valve. I plugged the hole on the abbott intake pipe and tightened the BOV onto the plastic pipe that runs to the filter and took a test run. There were no stalls between shifts which was a good first sign, and the valve makes a very satisfying shuttering sound like "whoooooooOOSHH WOOooosh wooosh". As far as the valve letting too much air out, it seems like i actually maintained more initial boost after shifting to second gear than i had before the BOV (could be imagining things tho)... So i dont know what to think. I dont want to use the atmospheric valve if it is hurting the car... but i havent found any signs of that happnening. Is it possible the car would have problems with the valve after more horsepower is running thru it? Or is this one of the few valve applications that is acceptable on a T7? The forge rep on the phone assured me this would work on the car but he might not be aware of the differences in the trionic systems and what effects they have.I realize this is a silly amount of work to get a special noise to come out of the engine bay between shifts... but that's just me... so if anyone has any advice on this subject (i.e. to keep the valve, to get a bypass valve, etc..) please let me know! Thanks
