flow straighteners on turbo intake pipe

I got these oem euro turbo intake pipes for my other car today. I was suprised to see these flow straighteners on the turbo intake end of the pipes. It's tough to see, but each flat piece is about 1 inch long. I wonder if they would be worth trying to add to my spg? I've read they improve efficiency, very slightly.
