Since I have daytime running lights, I never touch the switch. It doesn't matter whether the switch is in the on or off position, as the headlights are always on and only the funtion of the highbeam selector lever is affected. I never use the "parking light" option (which does turn off the headlights) since it isn't legal to be in motion with this selected last I checked. I was thinking about adding an upside-down rear foglight switch and using that if I really wanted on/off light control.
I might just end up building my own gauge out of some LED's, a few IC's, and a pressure transducer. The ideal setup would be an outer LED ring for the A/F ratio (as seen on many gauges) and then a digital number readout in the center showing boost PSI.
